Dr. Faiz Shariff is a Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeon whose journey began in Bangalore, India. After completing her early medical education in India, she trained in the United Kingdom, followed by a residency at Lehigh Valley Health Network and a fellowship in advanced bariatric and minimally invasive surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. Her diverse and global training has shaped a unique and inclusive perspective on surgical care.

Now based at WellSpan Health, Dr. Shariff brings over five years of experience to the fight against obesity. She offers a full spectrum of obesity treatment and with an approach grounded in empathy, science, and a commitment to dismantling weight-related stigma.

She is the Vice Chair of the Department of Surgery  and Director of Robotic Surgery, she has played a pivotal role in expanding the robotic platform at WellSpan and focuses on fostering collaboration and driving innovation to improve patient outcomes and enhance team performance.

Nationally, she is an active member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), serving on four major committees: the Clinical Issues Committee, the Bariatric Fellowship Training Committee, the Public Education Committee, and the Diversity and Inclusion Committee. She also serves as Vice President of the Pennsylvania State Chapter of ASMBS, helping lead regional initiatives in advocacy, education, and clinical excellence.
