- To encourage the multi-disciplinary nature of ambulatory surgery practice.
- To stimulate research in ambulatory surgery.
- To disseminate relevant research in the IAAS peer reviewed international journal, Ambulatory Surgery.
- To maintain a database for information on ambulatory surgery, anaesthesia and nursing.
- To develop international guidelines for the practice of ambulatory surgery.
- To organise seminars and conferences on ambulatory surgery.
- To communicate the benefits of ambulatory surgery to patients and health professionals
- To establish relationships with other associations or groups with an interest in ambulatory surgery.
- To collaborate with and advise policy makers and healthcare bodies worldwide, to advance ambulatory surgery as a high quality, patient focused healthcare option.
