On the morning of November 2, 2022, the China Ambulatory Surgery Alliance(CASA) and the Malaysian Medical Group under the Ministry of Health of Malaysia held the first China-Malaysia Ambulatory Surgery Cooperation Seminar Meeting on the cooperation of ambulatory surgery between China and Malaysia. The Chinese side attended the meeting with Zhang Zhenzhong (President ), Yu Lihua ( Vice President and Secretary General ), Han Bing ( Advisor ), Lu Yali ( Project Director ) and Ge Siying ( Project manager) of the CASA. Malaysian Medical Group Huang Curtain Sam (Director), Cai Xiaoli (Deputy Manager), Chong Suh Wei (Manager).
During the meeting, both sides exchanged information on the development of ambulatory surgery in both countries and discussed in depth about the future academic exchange and cooperation in ambulatory surgery. Prof. Zhang Zhenzhong introduced IAAS, CASA and the development of day surgery in China, and pointed out that CASA is a member of IAAS and is the authorized training center for the promotion of ambulatory surgery in Asia and Africa. CASA has long been committed to promoting ambulatory surgery in Asia and Africa under the leadership of IAAS. Mr. Huang introduced the overall situation of Malaysia Medical Group and the development of ambulatory surgery. During the discussion, both sides expressed their willingness to establish a long-term cooperation mechanism between China and Malaysia in the field of ambulatory surgery. Both sides agreed to hold an online day surgery symposium in the near future to showcase and exchange information on the development of ambulatory surgery in both countries. At the same time, the two sides agreed to develop a long-term cooperation plan. The meeting deepened mutual understanding of the medical field in both countries and established formal channels of communication. The two sides agreed to promote cooperation based on the present and the future, and to work together to promote the development of high quality in the field of ambulatory surgery in both countries, as well as to promote the development of ambulatory surgery in Asian countries.
